Delicious Hotdog sa Bukid



You might wondering what is Hotdog sa Bukid?

Hotdog for us here in our Bukid is the Okra. Okra is a tall plant whose pods are eaten as a vegetable and are used in the soups and stews. Okra is the alternative for hotdog in the city that is color Red or Brown. Hotdog sa Bukid is more nutritious than hotdog in the city. When I was in my younger age I didn't know what is hotdog, because all I know hotdog is the Okra. If Okra is our viand my father says "Ali namo manga on nata, Nagluto ko'g hotdog sa Bukid" We don't need a ketchup for our hotdog but fish sauce or "Ginamos" is sapat na. Sarap mabuhay sa Bukid sa simpleng ulam busog na, Naka tipid ka pa.





Ingredients

• Okra

•Fish sauce (Ginamos/ Bagoong)

•Vinegar

•onion

•Ginger

•Chili

•Calamansi


Procedure

1. In a pot put the water and Okra and steam it for 5 minutes

2. After it is already steamed

3. Prepare the sauce (fish sauce / Bagoong)

4. Cut the onion, ginger, Chili and Calamansi

5. Pour the vinegar in the Ginamos

6. Mixed well

Ready to serve for the family


Kaunting kaalam :

This sauce is also applicable for Saging na Saba that is already cooked and Mangoes. Fish Sauce is a liquid condiment made from fish that have been coated in salt and fermented for up to 2 years. The process for making this fish sauce is very long.
